Importance of good website header design
The first thing a visitor notices on a blog is its header. A header must make the site look professional, something that blends well with the main theme of your website. A header must be designed in such a manner that it pleases the returning visitors and at the same time encourages new visitors to come back again.
Your blog header can be used to brand your blog and make the readers remember your blog. Most bloggers do not take it seriously and use the default theme provided by blogging platforms like Blogger and WordPress. Adding an image would help distinguish your blog from several others who are using the same theme and template.
You need a header which is tempting and eye catching to make the visitors stay on your blog and browse through some of your posts. A header must be inspiring enough to install confidence among your readers in order to get your message across very clearly. The header design can vary depending on your personal preferences and niche. It can wild and crazy or clean with very few colors, ultimately it should look good.
Your header must clearly reflect your blog’s purpose and its intended audience. You can also add a navigation bar in the header. You need to be careful while implementing this option as the design has to be clean and precise as well as uncluttered. It must include a link back to the homepage of your blog and most importantly it must make your blog archives easy to access.
This blog is aimed at building long term relationships with my readers and their circle. Hence I have kept my blog header pretty simple and clean with a search box to help them find information from my older posts. This helps improve the readability and helps them find relevant information quickly. Also my site is not loaded with advertisements like most other blogs. A blogger that writes for his readers must expect great success in the long run.
